You know those online color blind tests? They test your ability to distinguish different hues of color.
Well, these CMYK Spectrum Puzzles are the physical manifestation of this kind of test. Only a lot harder, prettier, and a lot more fun.
The original CMYK Spectrum puzzle came as a jigsaw puzzle containing 1000 pieces. Each puzzle piece had a unique color from the CMYK gamut.
When put together, the pieces created a 19.6” x 27.5” (50 x 70 cm) picture of a smooth gradient similar to the color pickers you must have seen in Paint or Photoshop.
If you don’t think you’re up for such a tough challenge, you can start small with a smaller 100 piece puzzle that follows the same principle.
But if you are, as the website selling these puzzles has aptly put “the crazy one”, you can go for a 5000-piece puzzle. That’s right, 5000 colors you need to assemble to create one 80” x 32” masterpiece.
The types of puzzles don’t stop there. Some variations of these include a color changing puzzle (with 2 interchanging colors in one piece), halftone puzzles (with enlarged dots you might have seen on printed newspapers or comic books), vibrating color puzzles (with a polka dot pattern), and more.
