HotTug: Hot Tub Boat

What are stoves good for? Cooking a dinner on a camping trip, giving you an excuse to put a giant Predator head in your backyard, or powering a hot tub on top of a colorful boat.

Yes, these are all true applications of wood-burning stoves but today we’re going to focus on the latter one. Meet HotTug, a Hot Tub Boat that is as charming as it is ingenious.

The charm of HotTug comes from its teardrop shape combined with a big chimney on top. It can remind you a bit of those toy battleships and submarines you used to play within the bath when you were little. This hot tub boat is a more adult interpretation of that activity but it is just as fun and engaging.

The hot tub on the deck is powered by a wood-burning stainless steel stove. The boat itself is built out of wood and glass-fiber reinforced polyester. The default motor used in HotTug is an integrated electric MinnKota one that comes with a charger for it. It takes around 1800 liters of water to fill the hot tub to its fullest.

The water heating process might take about 2.5 hours but when it comes to relaxation you can’t rush things. Just imagine floating down the river in a hot 100ºF water while admiring the view and sipping on your favorite beverage. You can even take from six to eight of your friends to share this cool experience with you.
