Self-Stabilizing Spoon

The Self-Stabilizing Spoon is an ingenious invention designed to help people with hand tremors or limited hands and arms mobility to eat in peace and comfort.

The spoon is only an attachment to a stabilizing handle, so you have a selection of an everyday spoon, soup spoon and a fork attachment. The handle is rechargeable, so just connect the utensil attachment to the handle, eat, and when the time requires it – recharge the handle. But the battery in the handle is able to last for at least an hour before the next recharge.

The self-stabilizing spoon shakes 70% less than your hand thanks to state-of-the-art sensors, motors and a small onboard computer, that as a whole detect and counteract the tremors or changes in the intended direction.

There are two types of handles available – the anti-tremor one for people suffering from the Parkinson’s disease and essential tremor, or the one for people with limited hand mobility that has been acquired through, among others, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy or Huntington’s disease.

This is an extremely inspiring and helpful invention that represents the right direction the advancement of science is taking.
