Just align it with the surface you need to measure. Press the button at the back and drag it across that surface. You’ll see the measurement result on the high contrast OLED screen.
You can also access the digital tape settings and choose the measurement units of your preference. If you start the measurement at the corner and end at another corner, just add 2 inches to your result (it’s the diameter of the disc).
